Did you know that May is Water Safety Month? Water safety is a cause that is very near and dear to our hearts here at Pool Scouts. Not only are we focused on cleaning and maintaining pools, but we always want to provide a safe environment for you and your family. That\u2019s why it\u2019s so essential to spread awareness about the importance of learning how to swim! National Water Safety Month was originally created by the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals to raise awareness about water safety and to help everyone have safe, fun experiences in and around the water.<\/p>\n

POOL CLEANING WITH A CAUSE \u2013 HOPE FLOATS PARTNERSHIP<\/h3>\n

\"Hope<\/p>\n

According to the CDC, drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for children ages four and under. For the past two years, in hopes of reducing the number of drowning deaths and eliminating this statistic, Pool Scouts franchisees have partnered with Hope Floats Foundation to raise money to put towards swim lessons for underprivileged children who may not have otherwise had the opportunity to learn how to swim. Pool Scouts will be partnering once again with the Hope Floats Foundation this year with a fundraising campaign. For every pool service completed in the month of May, Pool Scouts will donate $1 to Hope Floats to provide scholarships for children in our community to have swim lessons. <\/span>This year, we are giving our customers the option to donate $1 per service as well!<\/i><\/b> We take honor in partnering with Hope Floats and believe their mission can and will save lives in our community.   1. No child is ever water safe.<\/a> The goal of swim lessons is to make children SAFER in, on, and around water.<\/li>\n
  2. About one in five fatal drowning accidents are in children ages 14 and under. For every child who dies by drowning, another five receive emergency department care for nonfatal submersion injuries. *<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. As many as 69% of young children who are found drowned or submerged in swimming pools were not expected to be in or at the pool.*<\/li>\n
  4. 10 people drown each day in the United States.*<\/li>\n
  5. Formal swimming lessons reduce the likelihood of childhood drowning by 88%.*<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
