“Will did an amazing job on our grotto pool pump! Before he found the crack in the housing, we were losing about 2 inches of water a day. Since he replaced the pump, we haven't lost a single drop! I haven't added any water since he left, whereas before I added water daily. Thank you for all your help with our water feature.” - Al M
“Wonderful work completed and extremely responsive!” - Heather G.
“I had Pool Scouts out again this year to clean my pool filter. The service rep was super friendly and the company was great communicating when the rep would be out. Highly recommend!” - Katie

Frequently Asked Questions

How often does my pool equipment need preventative maintenance?

To avoid costly emergency repairs, major pool components require scheduled preventative care throughout the year. We recommend a structured maintenance timeline for Beaufort pools: For pool filters, cartridge filters should be broken down and chemically cleaned every 3 to 4 months, while D.E. filters require an annual breakdown and grid inspection. Pump lid and chlorinator O-rings should be inspected and lubricated with silicone-based lubricant every 6 months to prevent air leaks. If you have a saltwater pool, the cell should be inspected for calcium scale and cleaned with a mild acid solution every 3 months to maintain proper chlorine generation.

What are the signs that my pool equipment needs an immediate maintenance check?

Waiting for equipment to completely fail always costs more than proactive maintenance. You should schedule a maintenance inspection immediately if you notice any of these warning signs: High Filter Pressure: A pressure gauge reading 8–10 PSI above your system’s "clean" baseline indicates a severely clogged or compromised filter. Loud or Screeching Pump: Whining or grinding noises usually mean the motor bearings are failing, or the pump is drawing in air. Air Bubbles in the Pool: Bubbles blowing out of your return jets mean there is a suction-side air leak, typically caused by a degraded pump lid O-ring or a loose union valve.

Why should I hire a professional for chemical maintenance instead of doing it myself?

Improperly balanced water does more than just cause burning eyes; it actively destroys your pool infrastructure. Out-of-balance pH and low calcium hardness can erode pool plaster, corrode metal heat exchangers in your heater, and ruin vinyl liners. Our technicians use commercial-grade testing kits to precisely calculate the Langelier Saturation Index (LSI). This ensures your water is neither corrosive nor scale-forming, adding years of life to your pool's surface and equipment.
