Did you know that May is Water Safety Month? Water safety is a cause that is very near and dear to our hearts here at Pool Scouts of the Lowcountry. Not only are we focused on cleaning and maintaining pools, but we always want to provide a safe environment for you and your family. That’s why it’s so essential to spread awareness about the importance of learning how to swim! National Water Safety Month was originally created by the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals to raise awareness about water safety and to help everyone have safe, fun experiences in and around the water.
Every day, about ten people die from unintentional drowning according to the CDC. Of these, two are children aged 14 or younger. Teaching water safety awareness helps to prevent drownings, and Pool Scouts is proud to be a part of this awareness initiative. As summer quickly approaches, it’s important to practice safety measures while having fun in the pool. Throughout the month of May, we’ll be posting blogs, social media posts, and other content to bring you tips for safer swimming in the pool.
The pool is a great way to have fun with the whole family during the summer months, but you can never be too careful! With the increased risk of drowning that comes with increased time in the pool, we want to make sure your pool is a safe zone for family members of all ages!
