Right now, Florida pools are only required to have one barrier at least four feet tall without any holes surrounding the entire pool. Senator Ed Hooper wants to change that rule to require at least two barriers before it can pass inspection.
“There are companies out there that make alarms for your sliding glass doors, there’s alarms for the water that let you know if something breaks the surface of the water,” said Joe Golio, owner of Pool Scouts.
